South Downs, Sussex. Sir Nigel Nicolson, son of Vita and Harold Nicolson who created the famous garden, Sissinghurst, Kent.
This is a photo of the River Ouse taken in 2001. I had spent seven days participating in a 'Virginia in Sussex' Study Group offered by the Virginia Woolf Society of Great Britain. During that time, one day, we walked to the river from Rodmell (Leonard and Virginia's home). She had filled her pockets with stones and drowned in 1941 here. We paid tribute. They both believed in their 'right to die'. (It was not the first time that they had considered suicide). 'Death with Dignity' (choosing the right to die) is still NOT an accepted choice today. Dr. Jack Kevorkian recently died not achieving his lifetime belief in reforming this cruel and demeaning law. Fortunately, there are still people who want to live, despite their pain, so I do not feel that this is a contrary subject for the Meme Host of Watery Wednesday.
You well-used the meme to go a bit deeper - to your credit.
