A Mourning Dove - Photographer unknown
PHOTOS, SOUND-BITES WITH INFORMED BACK-UP. SCROLL DOWN FOR MY PROFILE...I don't make a photograph just with a camera. I bring to the act of photography all the pictures I have seen, all the books I have read, all the music I have heard, and all the people I have known.
I have quite a few couples in my yard and love their cooing sounds. The feathers are so soft looking near the tip.
ReplyDeleteNice shot!
(Carletta's Captures)
Lovely details in this feather.
ReplyDeleteMust be a day for feathers. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful feather, lying on the ideal complementary surface. I suppose it's the black patch that puts the poor little bird in mourning.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very pretty, softly-coloured dove. Feathers are beautifully designed, delicate and strong. I prefer the coloured version of your feather to the monochrome, though both show the details perfectly.
ReplyDeleteNature at it's finest!!!
ReplyDeleteAN OLD RUSTED LANTERN is my macro shot today. I hope you can find time to stop by for a visit. Have a great Monday.
Beautiful feather and nice picture of the dove!
ReplyDeleteWe have so many doves in our yard all the time.. love to watch them and hear them coo! Great shot of the feather.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I like that you included a picture of the bird too. We have Collared Doves that look quite a lot like that.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely feather. We have doves in our yard but I don't believe I have ever found a feather. I really need to pay more attention!
