SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY - HE WAS AN OBSESSIVE PHOTOGRAPHER MAKING THE ORDINARY INTO ART...

The Andy Monument facing Union Square Park.  Yet New York's street artists
are still fighting for their right to sell their art in the public parks - shood out because
the city wants the more profitable concessions in place here!

  1. this is a sensational photo - you've managed to capture a live figure walking the opposite direction with the precise same posture, build as Andy and toting a bag. the only thing missing is eyeglasses. how extraordinary. OOH LA LA.

I'm so enamored with your photo I almost forgot to give a mention to the issue - art vendors. money is trumping justice all over this land and it disgusts me to no end. a revolution I say!

  3. I like the play of light and shadows on this shiny statue.

I think artists and the establishment will always be at odds as they simply do NOT think the same way.

  6. I focused on the sculpture, but as I looked into all the corners of the photo, there is much more there, more stories, I was drawn to the watch on the wrist of the guy on the right and wonder what brand it is, (probably not a Rolex).
I am sad thatbthere is still a problem with the street artist venders. I wrote to the mayor's office once and got a form letter back. Of course that office doesn't say they want high end, (corporate type), art selling on the streets instead of "real" art from artists. Good luck with that fight.

    Peace

  7. It's exactly the right media for the subject. Sorry to be late but your photos came up with the familiar X in the corner!
