RUBY TUESDAY - A multicolour woodcut is my contribution to this week's Ruby Tuesday

MINTA'S GLOW  ....  and the lost brooch

Print size 9" x 13"  Edition 5

From a series of impressions of Virginia Woolf's novel
 TO THE LIGHTHOUSE

To quote:  '...it might be true that she minded losing her brooch, but she wasn't crying for that. She was crying for something else.  We might all sit down and cry, she felt, but she didn't know what for.'

(Possibly for the loss of not only her grandmother's brooch but for her loss of innocence while on that walk.  Anyway, Mrs. Ramsay is satisfied that an engagement has taken place!)

  1. Lost broach? Whoa....now I'm gonna be looking for it hidden all day.

Won't you visit my Ruby Tuesday? I'd love to have your company today.

  2. Beautiful woodcut--yours? And nice choice for Ruby Tuesday. Now I'm off to revisit my copy of 'To the Lighthouse'--thanks for the reminder!
