A recent thunderstorm in NY City entrapped me in the CURE Thrift Shop (for Diabetes)
on 12th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues.
Towards the end of the storm I asked if they had an umbrella - they found this one, a delightfully
silky looking brolly by Estee Lauder, that I might not otherwise have bought, for $5!
'
It was raining hail stones the size of a dollar...
Since I was there for awhile, I also found this modern piece of sculpture, in tin to look like copper, for $10!
Whether or not it came from Hong Kong, I do not know. In any case, I liked and bought it!
Just think, if it had not been for the rain you would never have acquired your pretty umbrella and intriguing sculpture. Obviously charity shops hold hidden treasures.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful design on the umbrella..
