PHOTOS, SOUND-BITES WITH INFORMED BACK-UP. SCROLL DOWN FOR MY PROFILE...I don't make a photograph just with a camera. I bring to the act of photography all the pictures I have seen, all the books I have read, all the music I have heard, and all the people I have known.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS - THROUGH AN OPENED GLASS DOOR ...
The ladder in the top right hand corner is somewhere behind me - but the bricks and mortar texture (waiting for a stucco finish) caught my attention. The reflection was a bonus. I stood midway-up on roof top in Brooklyn - as noted in my previous post documenting another bonus shot of skywriting in its digital stage!

SKY WATCH FRIDAY - A MATERIALISTIC INTERRUPTION...
Recalling Septimus's dreamy interpretation of skywriting in Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf!
(In the novel, Septimus is a shell-shocked veteran and sees the world differently. The skywriting that everyone else in London sees he sees as a signal to himself, whereas it is actually an advertisement for toffee).

I didn't know how I did this until I read Squirrel Queen's inspiring instruction today of

WATERY WEDNESDAY - A WOODCUT PRINT LOST IN THE MAIL...
Mailed in March 2011 in a 2"x30" tube...to NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia
When sending small packages abroad, it would seem that the USPS can no longer track mail, and that it is up to the Australian PS to track incoming mail, or to return it to the sender if misaddressed. So far, I have had no news on the whereabouts of this package!

REFLECTIONS ON AMERICA'S CONTINUING WAR FOR INDEPENDENCE...
"The ideal is not always met...But it is always striven for..." Go to CBS Video Site Map reporting former British PM Tony Blair has 'no hard feelings' as he celebrates America's 4th of July!
This was a solar plate etching that I made in 2008 for the New York Society of Etchers in response to a call for work on the theme THE ART OF DEMOCRACY. For more information go to: http://www.artofdemocracy.org/ Here you will read about the MYTH part!
