SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY - ART STUDENTS LEAGUE of NEW YORK, Part 1

Waiting for a lecture to begin by Stephen A. Fredericks.  He is a New York artist printmaker and founder of both the New York Society of Etchers and the New York Etcher's Press.

When the lights were dimmed for the lecture, the window below appeared as above!

A visit to the Grand Gallery of the venerable Art Students League of New York - a story for printmakers,  collectors and historians.  Part 2:  Tomorrow - Monochrome Monday.

Do visit HEY HARRIET at SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY for more great shadows!

  2. A stunning, dramatic and quite large shadow. It qualifies as art to me, and the sheer size of this shadow defines the strength of NYC. Big shadows, like the City, makes us notice- I am thinking of a shadow left by the huge trestles of an elevated subway would fit the bill as well. An excellent capture!

  5. What an interesting concept! Showing the shadow and it's source in different photographs. The light coming in from the street has an unusual quality, almost theatrical.

  14. When the photos are enlarged the design above the doorway can be seen. This same design is also seen in the shadow, you captured it beautifully.
