RUBY TUESDAY - THE RED SHOPPING BAG

THE DOLL THING

Where are they going, with their 'babes' in arms....

Is it possible that the highly sexualized Barbie doll has had her day? (replaced by these homely American dolls MADE IN CHINA!)

A visit to the AMERICAN GIRL PLACE in New York is what these two 11 years old girls have been saving up for - for weeks!   Everything that doll needs is here:  a hair salon (the dolls have more than their fair share of hair), and a matching outfit for the little mom.  It just depends on how deep her pocket is!

(I shop therefore I am - says Barbara Kruger!)

  1. My 25 year old daughter still has her American Girl doll and furniture and clothes, and books, etc. What a treasure it is for her. See pictures that sent me down a happy memory lane.

  3. My 8-year-old English granddaughter's American Girl doll will remain a happy reminder of two years living in New York. Her brothers didn't enjoy the trip to the shop as much as she did ;-)

  6. I like both shots equally. The first has the essential sense of excitement; the second highlights the scarlet bag beautifully.

  9. Phishing is such a frustrating thing! I'm sorry it happened to you. I love the Calder shadows but haven't posted yet for Shadow Shot Sunday (I shared Scenic Views at Sacred Ruminations this morning) so I've leaving a comment here because I did participate in Ruby Tuesday last week at Small Reflections. Thanks for visiting MY Sky Watch post ;--)
    Hugs and blessings,
