SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY - TODAY'S MYSTERY SHADOW - WELL, PERHAPS NOT FOR LONG...

THE CLUE IS IN THE CAPTION...

In the 19th-century they used to be called "freedom machines" by feminists which, in turn, led to a "shocking" movement for wearing bloomers for bicycling,  thereby liberating women from wearing corsets and ankle-length skirts.

  1. The brilliant green of the leaf contrasts well with the unusual green shadow. Is there a prize for knowing what the object is?

  2. Is that a fig leaf I'm seeing. The whole thing is intriguing.

  3. Not only did you give us a shadow shot, but you gave us a history lesson as well. Bravo!

    SHADOW, SHADOW

    Shadow, shadow, if I could,
I would meet you in the wood,
    Where the frenzied fairies play
In the blazing light of day.

But, dear shadow, I dare not
    Go to that secluded spot,
For I fear the woodland path
And what’s more, the fairies’ wrath!
