    At first I thought it might be a spaceship! But your enlargement put me right. You had quite a breeze! September here is almost identical to September in the UK (I don't know so much about the US). As you cool down, so we warm up. And, yes, it is windy here too.We're just off to Melbourne, which is famous for being capable of 'four seasons in one day'.
