MACRO MONDAY - IMAGINE, A WHITE GARDEN AT STUYVESANT SQUARE PARK...

    IT IS A LARGE PUBLIC PARK IN DOWN TOWN NYC (TWO BLOCK-SIZED AREAS DIVIDED BY A STREET) -  EACH WITH A SIMPLE FOUNTAIN WITHIN A CIRCULAR POND.    THERE IS ENOUGH SPACE AND SHADE TO CREATE A YEAR-ROUND WHITE GARDEN IN ONE SPOT.   DREAM AWAY.....

BY OCTOBER THESE WHITE PERENNIALS MAY NOT BE SEEN AGAIN UNTIL NEXT AUGUST- SEPTEMBER - The third and fourth flowers seem to belong to Magnolia trees; 

I haven't seen a Magnolia flower so late in the year - has anyone else?

    On the way to MoMA, via the Lexington line (6) subway, exiting at the 51st stop, and taking a short walk to exit at 52nd-53rd streets (across the street from MoMA) leads to this massive waterfall sculpture -  confrontation the first time is breathtaking!

MACRO MONDAY - DUTCHMAN'S-PIPE...

    OR IS IT SIMPLY THE TRUMPET-FLOWER?

I always thought of this flamboyant vine as Dutchman's-pipe, the curved shape of leaf and flower form resembling a tobacco plant, also called an Aristolochia Sypho vine.  
Since showing this climber in my header, commenters have referred to it as the Trumpet-flower - apparently of  the genus Campsis, especially found in  southern U.S., described as having a large, red, Trumpet-flower, the shape of a trumpet.
The Emilycompost site shows a stage of growth of the Calico variety that does look like a pipe:

Does anyone know anything more about this wonderful summer vine?

SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY - D0UBLE THE SHADOW!

The painting beneath the shadows is by fellow blogger and friend Mary Westring.   Mary spotted the shadows and I took the photo with my G7 Canon,  the lights above the lamp producing the double  shadow effect with more definition than her camera, a Sony.    Altogether, a joint effort!
