This is not 'computer art' (or a photographic reproduction) for those still under the impression that an image that is created on the computer and printed out from an inkjet colour printer, is merely computer art! The term suggests that the computer is dominant in the creation of art. No way! The artist or, the photographer seeking to produce fine art images, dominates.
The digital camera and the computer are the chosen tools of the artist, as is the brush chosen by the painter who wants to paint. And the type of camera chosen by the photographer.
The image, once it leaves the camera, exists in the computer (or on a piece of 'paper', the canvas) and is often edited (more tools provided by the computer) to become something else - the work of art. There are applications that can be used enabling the artist to directly sketch into the computer. The digital photograph is inserted by way of ports. The print out is the work of art, after editing. The original stays in the computer which advantageously facilitates making 'editions' (documenting each work) and posting to other exhibition sites.
What you see here today are two 'reflection' photos that, at first, did not strike the photographer (me) as being that interesting in themselves. However, when uploaded to the monitor and viewed through the prism of an eye for form, shape, colour, texture, then the two photos, rearranged, took on a different pattern that removed the mind's eye from what it was seeing before, to what it sees now.
If anyone can add to this refresher, feel free to comment! My reflection for today.

Margaret you are indeed an artist! I've posted for Weekend Reflections also. :)
ReplyDeleteMargaret I didn't indicate the right address for my WR post in my last comment. Here is the correct address: Mary Tomaselli's Photos
