MONOCHROME WEEKEND - A ROSE IS A ROSE WAS A ROSE!

The day was breezy so the roses were not only blown but blown about!

  1. Roses have such beautiful shapes. They are one of the few flowers that look good in monochrome.

  2. They are so perfectly formed and healthy looking. How beautiful they are even as they are tossed about in the breeze.

  3. I often think tattered roses, maybe already slightly brown at the edges, have their own beauty. Friends and I were discussing that we're at this human stage now!

  4. Not easy when it's breezy. I do like the forms in your image Margaret. The stems and buds make this photo sing. I like your reflections as well.

Thanks for your comments Margaret. My mom is doing great now. No more driving for her at 87. Glad she finally decided not to take chances and gave me her car keys. Now that I have the car, I visit her every day and will be her private chauffeur.

The twins are identical but Livvy is bigger that Maddy. I have a hard time telling them apart.

No boys in my family. We have two girls and six granddaughters.

When I have the time, I want to do some serious macro photography of plants and flowers in B&W. Should be an interesting challenge -- the best kind.
