According to the AARP BULLETIN (July-August 2010) a national trend has seen a 43 percent increase in bicyclists between 2000 and 2008 as communities create 'Bicycle-Friendly' networks in tandem with park and highway improvement projects.
PHOTOS, SOUND-BITES WITH INFORMED BACK-UP. SCROLL DOWN FOR MY PROFILE...I don't make a photograph just with a camera. I bring to the act of photography all the pictures I have seen, all the books I have read, all the music I have heard, and all the people I have known.

Sounds to me like a very good initiative. We have Dublin Cycle campaign here, and it has made a big dfference, though you still take your life in your hands (or handlebars!) when you cycle in a city. Love the bright red bike!
ReplyDeleteI like the collage you've created. I'm glad more people are riding bicycles now than in 2000!
ReplyDeleteInteresting shots! And not only 'ruby' but 'shadow' too! The trend to cycling is world-wide I think and that's great. Good for health AND the environment.
ReplyDeleteI just love all the crisp shadows in these great pictures. Nicely done
ReplyDeleteGlorious photos! Who wouldn't love to ride that sparkling bike?
ReplyDeleteyou've captured the bikes so well ... i especially like the shadows.
ReplyDeleteMy Ruby Redness
Is this your bike? I'd like a red one. I haven't had a colorful bike since third grade. I had a red Columbia. Now, it is a mundane bronze color. I like the shots of the bikes a lot, and the shadows too. They look familiar.
ReplyDeletePeace.
An attractive-looking bike it is. I wish we have bike lanes here in my country. It would've been nice to commute riding it. Nice captures!
ReplyDeleteI oughta get back to riding a bike. I once loved it.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! You are very talented with a camera!
what fantastic shadows.
ReplyDeleteBikes are such super photo opportunities!
ReplyDeleteThese are splendid.
My bike clutters up my little hall but I use it pretty often
to go down the west side to Battery Park.
Hoping to see you soon since all our various guests have left
at last!!!
