PHOTOS, SOUND-BITES WITH INFORMED BACK-UP. SCROLL DOWN FOR MY PROFILE...I don't make a photograph just with a camera. I bring to the act of photography all the pictures I have seen, all the books I have read, all the music I have heard, and all the people I have known.
All I know is that it would make a beautiful brooch!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like an American Hover Fly but the stripes should be yellow. Whatever he might be he looks great on that beautiful coneflower.
ReplyDeleteHere in UK we have a similar - hornet?
ReplyDeleteWonderful detail!
That's an interesting insect. I assume that it's a bee since it's on the coneflower. Do flies gather pollen?
ReplyDeleteClueless, I would stay back from him though, lol. Love the cone flower!
ReplyDeleteWonderful details in this shot. I don't know what insect that is though.
ReplyDeleteWow not yellow bee but it's cook though! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteMacro Monday~Butterfly
Looks as though it might sting!
ReplyDeleteI love the format with the macro photos. Very impressive. Right now my garden is pretty dry. I hand water things, but since I live in a swamp most of the year I don't have a sprinkling system. Each day I hope for rain. But it will all come back, and I planted a row of marigolds for future color. Come and visit. Cheers
ReplyDeleteOh my! I don't know what that is. I don't think I have seen one of those before.
ReplyDeleteI'm still not one hundred percent certain but I tend to think if it isn't a hoverfly it could be a close relative.
ReplyDeleteIn answer to Michael's question, the hoverflies and bee flies I have photographed are more interested in the nectar than the pollen but they do help distribute pollen.
I think my internet connection problems are finally over, I am trying to get caught up on comments just in case it is not.
