SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY - OLD FASHIONED GAS STOVE...

I wish we could all go back to gas and forget about nuclear!




In a modern apartment in NYC I am stuck with an electric stove.  My blogger friend Mary Westring has a gas line to her building, so she chose a 1920s style gas stove to cook on!  Lots of shadows here for the visiting photographer!

MACRO FLOWERS SATURDAY - A MEME THAT IS BACK ON LINE AGAIN...

An artichoke flower - found in Stuyvesant Square Park, NYC, growing in the shade on a very tall stem.

CORRECTION (22.5.11): Blogger, printmaker and gardening friend, Mary Westring, confirms
that this is an onion flower, possibly an alium.  The artichoke flower looks like this:
