RUBY TUESDAY - DIABETES DAY IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA, but here in NEW YORK CITY...... ...

... it is Diabetes Day every Day!   Whether you are donating or browsing, the experience is akin to the treasure hunt feeling:  giving and getting is so much fun at these thrift stores that appeal to collectors of quirky junk and artful wall pieces.   The red umbrella prompted me to do this for Ruby Tuesday!

Down stairs there is a fantastic clothes selection for any occasion.

This C U R E THRIFT SHOP is at 111 East 12th Street, NY, 10003, if you are in the neighborhood.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS - AN AMERICAN DREAM WITH POOL

A house, a family, a job and a backyard pool that comes and goes.

According to economist, Paul Krugman, it is a mistake by governments to implement austerity measures to offset deficit spending while economies are recovering.    Op-Ed NYTimes 18.6.10.

SKYWATCH FRIDAY - RISING SUN SEQUENCE 2, NYC

I have to go to a different window now, facing north east, to catch this - other than catching it from the kitchen window view that faces east looking across the distant Hudson River.

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS - The dashing Dachshund: on seeking a new image?

My name is Frisk and, according to my owner, (who wishes to remain anonymous)

I am an International Star!    And here I am walking down 12th Street in New York city where I do seem to be drawing some admiring attention.  We are a proud breed of dog, the dachshund of Germany, no  less, and are often assigned unbecoming descriptions, like 'hot dog'.  Perhaps I am in rehearsal for the Poster Dog of the year, to change that image!

                                                               ON REFLECTION......
